The Chen Laboratory studies cancer cell biology, protein homeostasis, targeted protein degradation and tumor immune regulation. Our work integrates mechanistic biology and translational strategies to understand tumor progression and identify precision intervention approaches.

The laboratory focuses on cancer-associated protein quality control and combines cell biology, biochemistry, chemical biology and translational medicine to investigate key regulatory axes and develop targeted intervention strategies.
We investigate how TRIM family proteins, proteasome activity and misfolded protein clearance regulate cancer cell survival and growth.
We develop bifunctional molecular strategies and lysosome-directed degradation approaches for tumor-associated proteins.
We study the IFN-gamma/PD-L1 axis, metabolic stress signaling and protein degradation networks that shape antitumor immunity and therapy response.
